It is smooth, fast, and easy with this tea maker. I can live with the pitcher problem because the tea maker is so great. I've been using these tea makers for several years. The pitchers lack a little as they crack easily and leak along the seams. A++ We cannot go for one day without making a pitcher of tea. Sometimes, we end up making 2 pitchers.
but the absolute worst thing i hate about this is how much tea ends up on the counter and not in the pitcher. i'd broken one of the pitchers when i accidentally dropped it and decided to just buy whole new replacement. i've made probably thirty pitchers of tea so far and the pitcher is already starting to stain from where the brewed tea trickles down from the spout and into the pitcher. i hate the spout thing that you must move to the side to fill the chamber with water and then insert the basket that holds the tea bags and then move it back.
i had the old version of the mr coffee iced tea maker, the one with the orangey basket that sat atop the pitcher for brewing and the two pitchers and i loved that one. i put the pitcher up against the machine as tightly as i can, trying to align the spout just perfectly, but almost every time, i've got tea all over my counter when i come back to check on it. the person who posted about the spilling with nearly every glass poured was correct. i drink a lot of tea and it was so nice to be able to have an extra pitcher so that i never ran out.
seems to me that this will break easily. grrrr. unfortunately, after five years of constant use, it finally gave out. this design is not an improvement.
I have had always good products made by Mr.Coffee, the ease of making 2 or 3 Quarts is a plus. For the money you get a better product from Amazon than at your retail store.
Makes my job alot easier. And I love the fact that it is cold when it is done. I love this tea maker. It is great for having people over and for quick tea.
The plastic is very cheap and it breaks down there the hot tea goes in. Today I was told pitchers are not covered under warranty. We've purchased maybe 3 of these iced tea pots, they all break down. My latest one cracked at the bottom though, which means the quality must be getting worse. I'm not paying $15 for a cheap plastic thing that will break again. and the pitcher always breaks. One time we had a nice warranty lady that sent us a replacement for free since it happened after 2 months of getting a new one.
